About Us

We celebrate open communion during our weekly worship.  It is open to all who believe in Jesus Christ.  All Christians are called to be one in Christ and to seek opportunities for common witness and service.  Both ministers and lay persons lead in worship, service, and spiritual growth.

We practice freedom in belief.  Disciples are called together around one essential of faith:  belief in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.  Persons are free to follow their consciences guided by the Bible, the Holy Spirit, study and prayer, and are expected to extend that freedom to others.

We take seriously the command of Jesus to “make disciples of all people.”  We strive to learn more about God through studying His Word.

Our youth and children also meet regularly to study the Bible creatively through weekly meetings, retreats, and Vacation Bible School.

OUR PURPOSE

Stokesdale Christian Church exists to know God and make God known, to love each other as Christ loves us, to make disciples of each other, and to experience fellowship with God through obedience and praise.

OUR VALUES

We dedicate ourselves to leading a Christ-like, Spirit-filled life through worship, prayer, communion, baptism, fellowship, and outreach as a supportive family to all, acknowledging our rich history.

OUR VISION

For this reason, God has called us to personally commit ourselves to reach the lost, educate believers, and build our ministries for the growth of God’s Church through serving our community and our world.

Our Fellowship

At Stokesdale Christian Church we have many opportunities to worship God through fellowship.  On the third Sunday of every month, we have a fellowship luncheon with a rich variety of foods provided by the congregation.  We love to eat, but not just by ourselves.  We also gather together with other churches in Stokesdale for community worship and fellowship.  Fifth Sunday Sing, a Thanksgiving Service, and an Easter Sunrise service are a few of the ways we share our unity in Christ.

Our youth gather for weekly Bible studies that include games, music, and food.  Other youth activities include camps, service projects, and group outings throughout the year.

The Christian Men’s Fellowship and the Christian Women’s Fellowship are active within the community.  Both groups meet monthly and work on fund raising activities to help accomplish the work of their outreach ministries.
