Our Missions

Stokesdale Christian Church has a strong tradition of service.  An example of our service to the community is through Good Samaritan Ministries.  We partner with other area churches in this outreach program to provide help to those in need through a food pantry, health and dental assistance, and monetary aid when needed.  Other examples of our outreach ministries are the variety of activities held at local nursing homes, and sponsorship of Camp Agape, a camp attended by underprivileged children.  We actively support disaster relief and humanitarian efforts throughout the nation and the world.

Camp Agape

Church sponsorship provides a week-long camp experience for at-risk and underprivileged children ages 8–11.  The camp offers Bible Study, crafts, and a regular worship life.  The recreational programs enrich a child’s summertime activities and foster confidence and teamwork.  Camp Agape is affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in North Carolina.

Good Samaritan Ministries & Food Pantry

Good Samaritan Ministries of Stokesdale is an outreach ministry of Stokesdale area churches.  The organization provides a food pantry, emergency assistance and ecumenical Christian worship events.

Ten area churches contribute a specific food each month to the Good Samaritan Food Pantry.  All donations of non-perishable food are gratefully accepted. Monetary donations are also welcomed:  $25 provides a box of food for a family of four.  The Pantry is open to the public on the last Tuesday of each month.

Week of Compassion

Disciples Mission Fund of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Special Days in the life of the church often allow us to focus our worship, celebrations and fellowship around moments that are central to our faith.  Disciples Mission fund Special Day Offerings also provide an opportunity to highlight specific ministries as part of our faith celebrations.  There are four Disciples Mission fund Special Day Offerings and two Special Mission fund offerings received each year.  Each offering supports a specific ministry providing critical resources.
